Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 26th that the Seosan City team achieved their eighth consecutive victory at the 53rd Chungcheongnam-do Governor's Intercity Relay Race held in commemoration of the March 1st Movement.
On the 25th, more than 300 participants, including elementary, middle, and high school students as well as general athletes from 15 cities and counties in South Chungcheong Province, took part in the intercity relay race held at the Taegeukgi Hanmadang of the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan.
The race started at the House of the Nation, passed through the Maple Tree Forest Road, and returned to the House of the Nation, covering a total distance of 39.5 km. The course was divided into 12 relay sections for each division: elementary, middle, high school, and general.

The Seosan City team's total record secured first place overall (2 hours 37 minutes 12 seconds), achieving eight consecutive overall victories from 2017 to 2025.
Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "I am grateful to the athletes who have elevated the city's prestige by achieving eight consecutive victories," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support to further enhance Seosan's status as a sports city."
