An Exciting Experience Riding Through the Sky
Gurye County in Jeollanam-do announced that, with the peak spring tourist season approaching, the "Seomjingang Sky Bike Experience Facility" in the Oseom Tourism Zone of Muncheok-myeon will officially open on March 1.
The Seomjingang Sky Bike is an exciting attraction where visitors can ride a bicycle along a 365-meter cable connecting the parking lot in the Oseom area of Muncheok-myeon to the bamboo forest path in Wonbang-ri, Gurye-eup. The facility will be operated through a private consignment system.
This facility consists of 12 manual bicycles and 8 electric bicycles, and anyone over 120cm in height can easily use it. At approximately 20 meters above ground, visitors can enjoy the blue waves of the Seomjingang River and the surrounding natural scenery, offering a unique thrill and enjoyment.
During the trial operation period in 2024, the county conducted joint safety inspections with the fire department and completed additional facility checks through a separate safety company to ensure thorough safety measures.
A county official stated, "The Seomjingang Sky Bike is the only experience facility of its kind in the Jeollanam-do region and will provide tourists with a special opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Seomjingang River from above." The official added, "We hope visitors will create unforgettable memories in Gurye, along with the Jirisan Sky Run (monorail, zipline) at Jirisan Garden, which opens on the same day."
