Mayor Lee emphasized the need to make every effort to attract businesses to realize a self-sufficient city. He stated, “We must actively promote new changes in our city’s business attraction environment, such as the Ilsan Techno Valley and the Venture Business Promotion Zone, to improve the perception that our city is difficult for business management,” adding, “In particular, please devise ways to attract many startups in strategic industries that the city is focusing on, such as AI robots, UAM, and autonomous driving.”
He also urged the realization of open administration that prioritizes ‘citizen-first communication governance,’ one of the goals of the 8th elected administration. The mayor said, “Our city has regularized ‘Direct Complaint Communication Days’ to listen to citizens’ inconveniences,” emphasizing, “I hope you will prepare solutions that meet the citizens’ perspectives and actively reflect them in policies.”
Next, Mayor Lee referred to a survey result showing that 90% of GTX-A users are satisfied. He said, “Last year, we established and adjusted a total of 35 bus routes centered around Kintex Station and Daegok Station to build a smooth transfer system with GTX-A and the suburban line,” adding, “As commuting times decrease, citizens’ leisure and rest time increase, so we will continue to strive to create a well-connected transportation hub city.”
After receiving a report on the launch ceremony of the university student mentoring group ‘Goyang Univ’ hosted by the Goyang City Youth Foundation, the mayor said, “It was very impressive to see a virtuous cycle where students who received career guidance through the mentoring group have grown and are now mentoring youth,” and requested, “Please operate the university student mentoring group based on a systematic plan and also find ways to expand the role of the professional mentoring group.”
Mayor Lee reviewed the progress of the first supplementary budget for 2025, stating, “This year’s main budget has also been cut for statutory plan budgets such as the city master plan and road construction management plan, as well as major service budgets,” and urged, “Please prepare thoroughly in the relevant departments to fulfill the city’s legally defined roles so that citizens do not suffer any damage.”
Meanwhile, at the executive meeting that day, major project plans were reviewed, including △ the 106th Samiljeol (March 1st Movement) Commemoration Ceremony △ regional chemical accident response plan △ completion of the new Ilsandong-gu Public Health Center building △ launch of the Goyang City Youth Mentoring Group △ recruitment of new companies for corporate residence facilities.
