The event was organized to inform airport users about the "Standard Procedures for Managing Auxiliary Batteries and Electronic Cigarettes," which will be implemented starting next month on the 1st. The aim is to strengthen the safety management of auxiliary batteries allowed on board and to alleviate public concerns.
According to the standard, up to five auxiliary batteries of 100Wh or less are allowed, and up to two batteries between 100Wh and 160Wh can be carried on board with airline approval. Auxiliary batteries exceeding 160Wh are prohibited from being brought on board.
Auxiliary batteries carried on board must be stored in transparent plastic bags provided by the airline or have insulating tape applied to prevent short circuits. They must be kept in visible places or carried on the person. Auxiliary batteries and electronic cigarettes are not allowed in checked baggage.
On this day, Lee Jeong-gi, Acting President of the corporation, along with the management team and airline staff, distributed promotional materials and souvenirs related to the auxiliary battery in-flight carriage procedures to airport users and urged cooperation with the guidance provided during boarding for safe travel.
Acting President Lee Jeong-gi stated, "The corporation will prioritize passenger safety and continue to cooperate with airlines and related organizations to ensure that airport users strictly comply with the in-flight carriage procedures for auxiliary batteries and electronic cigarettes."
