LNKBioMed announced on the 26th that its U.S. subsidiary, Aegis Spine, conducted a cadaver workshop from the 20th to the 21st at the pediatric surgery Pectus course held at a children's specialty hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Pectus course is a training program held twice a year for specialists and residents nationwide in the U.S. to learn surgical and related treatment techniques for pediatric chest wall deformities. The event in the first half of this year was conducted as education for residents in collaboration with Zimmer Biomet and KLS Martin.
Dr. Robert Obermeyer, who attended as a speaker at the cadaver workshop, gave a lecture on the correct usage, theory, and pre- and post-operative effects of LNKBioMed’s pectus implant, Pectus. Through anatomical practice, he highlighted the product’s excellence and aimed to ultimately provide safe and effective surgery for patients.
Dr. Robert Obermeyer served as the Deputy Director and Chief of Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia, U.S., and is the originator of the Nuss Procedure, the most widely used surgery worldwide.
He stated, "Both medical staff and surgical patients are highly satisfied with the Pectus product," adding, "Compared to other companies’ products, it is an upgraded product tailored to the surgical purpose, and it is expected to be highly useful for patients requiring this surgery."
Pectus is a minimally invasive surgical product that improves the commonly used Nuss Procedure for correcting pectus excavatum. LNKBioMed, recognized globally for its technology in the spinal implant field, has expanded its business into thoracic implants such as those for pectus excavatum.
An LNKBioMed official said, "We held this cadaver workshop to promote the pectus implant ‘Pectus’ and to expand safe surgical techniques."
