Daejeon City Launches 24-Hour Integrated Care Service 'Ilsang Center' The opening ceremony was attended by Taekgu Lee, Deputy Mayor of Economic and Science Affairs of Daejeon City, Kyunga Hwang, Vice Chair of the Daejeon City Council, and Dosoon Modu, Director of the Disability Services Division at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Daejeon City announced that it opened the “Ilsang Center,” an institution providing 24-hour integrated care services for individuals with severe developmental disabilities, on the 26th.


The Ilsang Center care service operates in two shifts: day and night. Daytime activities are provided at the Ilsang Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while nighttime care is supported at a residential space in Deogam-dong from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. the following day. The service is available from Monday to Friday, and participants return home on weekends.


The service is available to registered individuals with developmental disabilities (intellectual or autistic) aged 18 to under 65 who exhibit severe challenging behaviors and have significant limitations in daily living skills and communication abilities.


Applications can be submitted through the local administrative welfare center, and final selection is made after review by the Integrated Care Service Review Committee.


Lee Taekgu, Daejeon City Deputy Mayor for Economic and Science Affairs, stated, “Through this service, individuals with developmental disabilities will receive more specialized care to build their self-esteem, while caregivers will be provided with a foundation to continue economic activities and daily life.”
