Establishing a System for Research Subject Safety and Ethical Research
Strengthening the Foundation as a Designated Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institution
Centum General Hospital (Chairman Park Jong-ho, Director Park Nam-cheol) recently received official approval for Institutional Review Board (IRB) registration from the National Bioethics Policy Institute.
With this registration, Centum General Hospital has established a system to protect the safety of research subjects and conduct ethical research related to advanced regenerative medicine.
Previously, in July of last year, Centum General Hospital was designated as the first advanced regenerative medicine institution among general hospitals in the Busan area.
The IRB is an organization responsible for reviewing research ethics, examining the ethical validity of research, and protecting the rights and safety of research subjects during the conduct of research.
The name of Centum General Hospital’s Institutional Review Board is registered under the affiliated institution, Busan National University Hospital, and with this registration, research can be conducted after IRB review in areas such as “human subject research” and “research involving human-derived materials.”
Director Park Nam-cheol stated, “Through the registration of the Institutional Review Board, we will create a more trustworthy research environment and enhance the quality of advanced regenerative medicine research,” adding, “We will prioritize the safety of research subjects while conducting innovative advanced regenerative medicine research.”
Centum General Hospital plans to continuously develop a systematic medical research environment that complies with research ethics and bioethics.
