Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik) International Exchange Team has been finally selected as a certified university in the ‘2024 Education Internationalization Competency Certification System,’ continuing its reputation as a certified university for 11 consecutive years.
The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea conduct annual evaluations of education internationalization competency certification and surveys on the recruitment and management of international students to enhance universities' internationalization capabilities and improve their ability to attract and manage excellent international students.
According to the results of the ‘2024 Education Internationalization Competency Certification Evaluation and International Student Recruitment and Management Survey’ announced on the 21st, Shilla University was selected as a certified university for both degree programs and language training programs.
Continuing its reputation as a certified university for 11 consecutive years, Shilla University will enjoy benefits such as △simplification of visa issuance procedures for foreign international students △provision of educational policy and project-related benefits △strengthened promotion of certified universities △expanded allowed working hours for part-time employment of foreign international students.
Additionally, it will receive further benefits including △selection as a university for Government Scholarship Program for Foreign Students (GKS) △promotion as a certified university through the Ministry of Education’s Korea Study Abroad Comprehensive System, and various other internationalization-related projects and international student recruitment.
Bae Sang-dae, Director of the International Exchange Office at Shilla University, said, “It is a special feeling to prove Shilla University’s education internationalization competency by acquiring the certification for 11 consecutive years,” and added, “We will do our best to strengthen internationalization capabilities and support the stable settlement of foreign international students in Korea in line with the Ministry of Education’s plan to enhance the competitiveness of international student education.”
The International Exchange Office at Shilla University operates various programs to help foreign international students adapt early to their studies and life, including early adaptation programs by the Ministry of Justice, various immigrant social integration programs hosted by the Busan Immigration Office and Foreigners’ Affairs Office, employment support, and various cultural experience programs.
