Due to recent climate change, abnormal low-temperature phenomena frequently occur during the flowering period, raising concerns about low-temperature damage to major fruit crops such as apples and pears. In response, Cheongsong-gun has decided to expand the low-temperature damage mitigation agent support project, which has been in operation since last year, from twice to three times to help stabilize farm production and reduce damage.
The support targets are farm operators registered as agricultural management entities residing in Cheongsong-gun who actively cultivate fruit trees within the province. The mitigation agents will be provided based on the cultivation area per farm.
Applications will be accepted at the Eup and Myeon offices until March 5. Farmers can refer to the guidebook available at the Eup and Myeon offices and select their desired product from 10 types of agent samples chosen through the selection committee when applying.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “As abnormal weather is expected to increase damage to farms, we aim to alleviate farmers’ difficulties through prompt and systematic support,” adding, “We also hope that farmers will actively work to prevent damage by timely spraying of the agents.”
