High Praise for Sunset Observatory and More
Seo-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced that the Seochang Eulalia Festival has won the Grand Prize in the 'Festival Tourism Ecology' category at the Korea Festival Content Awards for three consecutive years.
According to Seo-gu on the 26th, the Korea Festival Content Awards, hosted by the Korea Festival Content Association, is a prestigious award in the festival sector that selects and honors outstanding festivals contributing to the development of the local festival content industry.

Previously, Seo-gu received high praise for presenting differentiated content at the 9th Seochang Eulalia Festival, held last year under the theme 'An Invitation to Autumn Delivered by Silver Eulalia.' The festival featured programs such as SG Secret Dining, Seochang Eulalia Spacing Out Contest, National Eulalia Sunset Photo Contest, Sunset Observatory, and Sentimental Picnic, setting an example of a walkable landscape festival in the city.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Seochang Eulalia Festival. To further enhance its identity, completeness, and satisfaction, an expert advisory group has been formed to prepare for the event, and various programs themed around walking, paths, and healing are being planned.
Additionally, a nationwide vote will be held to select and feature the most popular programs from past festivals. There are also plans to link the festival with the 'Sentimental Observatory,' an emerging attraction along the Yeongsangang River, to offer an even richer and more fulfilling festival experience.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, stated, "We will prepare even more enriching programs for the Seochang Eulalia Festival, turning it into a nature-friendly ecological festival where people can walk, enjoy, and heal together along the silver waves of eulalia by the Yeongsangang River."
Meanwhile, the 10th Seochang Eulalia Festival is scheduled to be held in mid-October along the Yeongsangang River.
