Six Teams, Including Ajou University's EMOtion, Win Top Honors
Finalists Selected at the 20th National University Student Securities and Derivatives Competition
Grand Prize Awarded to Ajou University's EMOtion Team
The final winning teams of the 20th National University Student Securities and Derivatives Competition hosted by the Korea Exchange have been decided.
The Korea Exchange has been holding the National University Student Securities and Derivatives Competition annually since 2005 to encourage university students' interest in the capital market and to discover outstanding talents. The competition evaluates excellent research reports related to the securities and derivatives markets submitted by teams composed of up to four students from domestic universities.
This year, 30 teams from 21 universities applied, and 10 teams from 10 universities advanced to the finals. At the finals held on the 20th at the Korea Exchange's Seoul headquarters IR Center, each team presented their research report and participated in a Q&A session. After fierce competition, six teams were selected as the final winners. The prestigious Grand Prize was awarded to Ajou University's 'EMOtion.' They won with the research topic titled 'Development of EMO for Market Risk and Volatility Mitigation: Comparative Analysis Using the Heston Model and LSMC Method and Review of OTC Market Introduction.'
The Excellence Award went to Y-FoRM (Yonsei University) and LongStone (Sungkyunkwan University). Three teams?IBA (Pusan National University), IndexGuard (Seoul National University), and 3F (Chungnam National University)?received Encouragement Awards.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 4th of next month in conjunction with the Korea Exchange's '69th Anniversary of Securities Market Opening' ceremony. The team that won the Grand Prize will receive a commendation from the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission along with a scholarship prize of 10 million KRW.
