The ‘Seoul Digital Donghaeng Plaza’ is a project promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government aimed at enhancing citizens' digital capabilities and improving leisure activities. In this competition, Gangdong-gu received high evaluations and was selected as the Southeast Center, with a total project cost of 1.7 billion KRW (city funds), targeting an opening in the second half of this year.

The Southeast Center, scheduled to be established on the 4th floor of the Cheonho 3-dong Public Complex Building, will operate as a digital cultural center combining education, play, sports, and relaxation. Through this, it will provide residents with diverse cultural experiences and collaborate with various related organizations such as the 50 Plus Center, Gangdong Senior Club, Single-Person Household Support Center, and Health 100-Year Counseling Center to offer customized support in education, employment, welfare, health, and other fields.

The district expects that the center will become a digital complex cultural space focused on the elderly through digital education, AI Baduk, screen park golf, movie viewing, and art exhibitions, as well as a resting place where multiple generations can enjoy together.

Mayor Lee Su-hee said, "Through attracting the Seoul Digital Donghaeng Plaza Southeast Center, we hope residents can enjoy leisure and hobbies using various digital technologies," and added, "We will continue to actively strive to enrich the lives of residents."
