Gyeonggi Province is expanding the programs of the ‘Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Service Lab’ to revitalize local regeneration.
The Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Service Lab is an urban regeneration dissemination and network collaboration platform operated and led by residents. It opened in April last year on the second floor of the Eoulligi Cultural Development Center (126-31, Gwangmyeong-dong, Gwangmyeong-si) to promote sustainable local community revitalization.
Last year, it contributed to enhancing communication among local residents through child and elderly care programs and life-oriented services for residents, including the Gyeonggi RE100 Action Plan Talk Concert, a policy responding to the climate crisis in Gyeonggi Province.
This year, Gyeonggi Province plans to offer various programs such as ▲Local Revitalization Talk Concert ▲The Dream Regeneration Living Lab ▲Support for Youth Community Activities ▲Cultural Welfare Programs. In particular, the Local Revitalization Talk Concert and The Dream Regeneration Living Lab programs will create an environment where various stakeholders, including local residents, experts, and youth, participate together. Through this, it is expected to discover innovative regeneration models and expand the achievements of local regeneration projects.
Kim Tae-su, Director of Urban Regeneration at Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "The Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Service Lab will contribute to the actual improvement of the quality of life of local residents," adding, "We will actively communicate within the Service Lab to ensure that experiments lead to actual commercialization and establish a sustainable resident-led operational system in the future."
