[Breaking] Police Officer Attacked with a Knife in Gwangju...Suspect Shot Dead

At around 3:11 a.m. on the 26th, Officer A, a police officer in his 50s who responded to a 112 call, was attacked with a bladed weapon by an unidentified individual, B, on the sidewalk near the Geumnamno 4-ga Station intersection in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

During the process of subduing B, the police used a firearm. B, who was hit by live ammunition, was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but later died. Officer A also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
