‘Energy Recharge’ Im Sung-jae Likes PGA National Resort Im Sung-jae is challenging for his first win of the year at the Cognizant Classic.

This tournament was held under the name Honda Classic until 2023. Since last year, the title sponsor changed, and the tournament name was changed to the Cognizant Classic. Although the name changed, the event has been played on the same course since 2007. Im Sung-jae has been strong on this course, having won here in 2020.

The momentum this year is also good. He has recorded two top-5 finishes, including 3rd place at The Sentry and a tie for 4th at the Farmers Insurance Open. He skipped last week's Mexico Open to manage his condition. Having fully replenished his energy, he is expected to contend for a win once again at the PGA National Resort Champions Course. Im Sung-jae's last victory was at the Shriners Children's Open in October 2021.

Korean players Ahn Byung-hoon and Lee Kyung-hoon have also joined the field. Especially Lee Kyung-hoon has good memories, having tied for 4th place at this tournament last year. His best individual result this year is a tie for 9th at the Farmers Insurance Open. Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler (both from the USA) are among the favorites to win. Brian Campbell (USA), who celebrated his first victory in his 187th tournament at the Mexico Open, will also participate. Defending champion Austin Eckroat (USA) is aiming for a second consecutive win.
