Ko Jin-young, Now Challenging Tournament Most Wins Record

Ko Jin-young is challenging a new history.

Ko Jin-young challenges for her third win, the most in the tournament, at the HSBC Women's World Championship.

From the 27th for four days, she will compete in the LPGA Tour's 'Asian Swing' HSBC Women's World Championship (total prize money $2.4 million) held at Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong Course (par 72, 6,779 yards) in Singapore, aiming for the top spot. Ko Jin-young is a strong contender at the HSBC Women's World Championship. She won the tournament in 2022 and 2023. Since the HSBC Women's World Championship began in 2008, only Ko Jin-young and Park In-bee have won twice.

If Ko Jin-young wins, she will set a historic record as the first player to win the tournament three times. This year, she has placed in the top 5 twice in three events. She tied for 4th at the season opener Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, finished runner-up at the Founders Cup, and tied for 45th last week at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Riding this early momentum, she is targeting her 16th career victory since the Cognizant Founders Cup in May 2023.

Korea’s season opener winner Kim A-lim is eyeing her second win of the season. She finished 6th at the Honda LPGA Thailand, her second tournament of the year. She boasts a 100% top 10 entry rate, ranks 1st in prize money, 1st in Player of the Year points, 2nd in CME Globe points, and 3rd in scoring average. Also competing are 2021 champion Kim Hyo-joo, Yoo Hae-ran, Yang Hee-young, Choi Hye-jin, Lim Jin-hee, Anna Lin, Shin Ji-eun, and Lee Mi-hyang.

Lydia Ko (New Zealand), who skipped the Thailand tournament for rest, will participate. Last year’s champion Hannah Green (Australia) and world No. 2 Jin Young Ko (Thailand) are also strong contenders. Angel Yin (USA), winner of the Honda LPGA Thailand, and No Ye-rim (USA), Founders Cup champion, are also expected to contend for multiple wins.
