The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 25th that a private promotion committee has been formed to establish the 'Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts,' a commemorative space encompassing all genres of Korean popular culture and arts.
The private promotion committee consists of 27 popular artists, including 14 actors, 4 singers, 3 comedians, 3 voice actors, and 3 musical theater professionals.
On the same day, Minister Yoo In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism met with the members of the private promotion committee at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, held a meeting regarding the promotion of the 'Hall of Fame,' and gathered on-site opinions.

Representing the private promotion committee at the meeting were actors Yoo Dong-geun, Jung Bo-seok, Jung Joon-ho, and Shin Hyun-joon; singers Nam Jin and Kwon In-ha; voice actor Jang Gwang; and musical directors Park Myung-sung and Seol Do-yoon.
In addition, actors Shin Young-kyun, Choi Soo-jong, Lee Young-ae, Lee Byung-hun, Lee Jung-jae, and Kim Hee-sun; singers Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) and Kim Tae-woo; and comedians Lee Kyung-kyu and Shin Dong-yup were also listed as members of the promotion committee.
During the meeting, cooperation plans with the private promotion committee were discussed, and opinions of popular artists regarding the establishment of the Hall of Fame were collected. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to form a regular consultative body with the private promotion committee based on this meeting and utilize it as a key advisory group throughout the Hall of Fame promotion process.
The Ministry stated that the Hall of Fame will be established not only as a simple commemorative space but also as a complex cultural facility for archiving and education, aiming to create a landmark symbolizing the field of popular culture and arts.
Minister Yoo In-chon said, "The 'private promotion committee,' voluntarily formed by representatives of each field of popular artists, is expected to play an important role in establishing the Hall of Fame," and added, "The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will cooperate with the private sector to promote the establishment of the Hall of Fame step by step in a realistic and sustainable manner."
