Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk held the 2025 School Meal Support Deliberation Committee meeting on the 24th at the county office's small conference room to support students' healthy growth and balanced dietary habits.
At the meeting, Chairman Kim Hyo-jun, Deputy Governor of Yeongyang-gun, along with agricultural producer groups, school officials, and parents attended to deliberate on the excellent agricultural, fishery, and livestock products school meal support project, two other support projects, and the re-designation of the School Meal Support Center.
Yeongyang-gun contributes not only to fostering healthy eating habits among students but also to promoting the consumption of local agricultural products through the excellent agricultural, fishery, and livestock products school meal support project, the eco-friendly agricultural products school meal support project, the free meal support project for elementary, middle, and high schools, and the in-kind support of Bitkkalchan red pepper powder for school meals.
This year's budget is approximately 450 million KRW, aiming to provide high-quality meals to about 930 kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students.
Governor Oh Do-chang stated that school meals are not just a simple meal but an important part of education that helps students' healthy growth and the formation of proper eating habits. He also pledged to actively support the budget to improve the quality of meals and provide balanced nutrition to students by using safe ingredients.
