Sungshin Women's University announced on the 26th that it has been selected as an Excellent Certified University, the highest grade, in the '2024 Internationalization Competency Certification Evaluation' announced by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice. Among general universities nationwide, only 22 schools reached this grade, and Sungshin Women's University has maintained the highest grade for 11 consecutive years, proving its international competitiveness.

The Internationalization Competency Certification is an evaluation system aimed at enhancing the quality and international credibility of Korean higher education by strengthening the capabilities of attracting and managing foreign students. The Excellent Certified University status is granted to universities that meet strict evaluation criteria. Sungshin Women's University maintained certification for both degree programs and language training programs over the past three years and passed rigorous standards such as an illegal stay rate below 2%, earning the excellent certification.

As an Excellent Certified University in this evaluation, Sungshin Women's University will gain comparative advantages in various national projects, including the addition of countries eligible for simplified visa issuance, expansion of weekday part-time work permit hours, automatic selection for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, and preferential participation in overseas study fairs. These benefits are expected to significantly strengthen the university's internationalization capabilities.

As of December last year, Sungshin Women's University has 1,073 foreign students from 37 countries enrolled. Starting from the 2025 academic year, the university plans to enhance academic achievement and educational satisfaction by expanding global education programs such as establishing a dedicated undergraduate department for foreign students and a customized support system for international students.
