Previously, on social media, a controversy arose after a Chinese man filmed a video imitating former President Jeon Du-hwan in Gwangju.

Professor Seokyung Deok pointed out, "This man, dressed in a jumper and wearing military boots with his forehead fully exposed, waved a red stick in front of the National Gwangju Museum," adding, "I cannot understand how anyone could think of making a video that trivializes another country's historical pain."

He also mentioned the incident on the 11th when some fans of the Chinese professional football club Shandong Taishan displayed a photo of former President Jeon Du-hwan towards the away fans during a match against Gwangju FC.

Regarding this, Gwangju FC stated, "This act mocks and belittles not only Gwangju Metropolitan City but the entire Republic of Korea," demanding an official investigation and disciplinary action. Professor Seokyung Deok emphasized, "Chinese people must remember that such absurd actions will only isolate China."
