Oh Youngsoon, a member of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council, recently received the top prize for the second consecutive year at the "21st Korea Local Autonomy Society Excellent Ordinance Awards" for the "Gwangju Nam-gu Ordinance on Customized Public Job Support for Severely Disabled Persons Centered on Rights."

The Korea Local Autonomy Society annually selects and awards individuals and organizations for ordinances proposed and enacted or amended by local council members that contribute to the substantive development of autonomous legislation and the advancement of local autonomy.

By winning the top prize for two consecutive years, Councilor Oh has helped to widely publicize the legislative achievements of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council for its residents across the country.

It was enacted to guarantee the right to work for severely disabled persons and to contribute to self-realization and social integration.

On the 24th, Councilor Oh stated, "Through the enactment of this ordinance, I expect it will serve as a stepping stone in creating an environment where severely disabled persons, who have almost no economic opportunities, can work and in improving social awareness," and added, "I will continue to make every effort to discover and establish various ordinances that can provide practical help to the lives of our residents."
