Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency, Gyeongnam Province, and Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter Sign Business Agreement

Alleviating Psychological Trauma and Supporting Return to Daily Life
for Maritime Police Officers through Disaster Psychological Recovery Assistance for Maritime Accidents

The Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency signed a business agreement on the 24th with Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross to strengthen disaster psychological recovery support for victims of maritime accidents and maritime police officers.

Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency, Gyeongnam Province, and Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter Sign Business Agreement Namhae Regional Office, Gyeongsangnam-do, and the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Chapter are signing a business agreement to support psychological recovery from maritime accidents.

The event was attended by Jang In-sik, Chief of the Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency, Park Myung-gyun, Vice Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, and Park Hee-soon, Chairman of the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross.


This business agreement was prepared to alleviate the mental shock and ensure a safe return to daily life through disaster psychological recovery support for victims and bereaved families of maritime accidents occurring in Gyeongsangnam-do, as well as maritime police officers on the front lines of search and rescue.


To this end, the Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency will guide and enable maritime police officers, their families, victims, and bereaved families in the province to receive disaster psychological recovery support projects. Gyeongsangnam-do will support disaster psychological recovery services and recovery programs, and the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross will operate a disaster psychological recovery support center providing counseling and healing programs.


In his greeting, Jang In-sik, Chief of the Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency, said, “This agreement will greatly help improve the welfare of not only disaster victims and their families but also maritime police officers on the scene.” He emphasized, “Through this tripartite collaboration, meaningful results have been achieved in areas where support was difficult under the existing administrative and judicial systems, and the Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency will do its best to make this a model case of proactive administration.”
