Busan Gijang-gun to Accept Applications for Special Support for At-Risk Youth This Year

Applications Open Until March 15
for Low-Income At-Risk Youth Aged 9 to 24

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) is recruiting candidates for the ‘2025 Special Support for At-Risk Youth’ program until March 15.

The ‘Special Support Project for At-Risk Youth’ is a program that identifies low-income at-risk youth who are in welfare blind spots and provides various services tailored to youth crises. It has been operated annually to support the healthy growth of low-income at-risk youth.

This year, about 15 individuals will be supported. Eligible candidates are youth aged 9 to 24 residing in Gijang-gun whose household income is at or below 100% of the median income, including ▲ youth needing support to prevent delinquency and deviant behavior ▲ out-of-school youth ▲ youth not under parental protection (including children from single-parent families) ▲ reclusive youth, among others.

Applications can be submitted from February 24 to March 15 by the youth themselves, their guardians, or youth counselors, social workers, or others who know the youth in need of support at the administrative welfare centers in their respective towns and townships.

The final selection of candidates, support amounts, and duration will be decided through the review of the Youth Welfare Deliberation Committee. Based on the decisions, services related to living, health, academics, independence, counseling, legal assistance, and activities will be provided.

A Gijang-gun official stated, “We will actively support youth in blind spots who are socioeconomically struggling due to lack of practical protection so that they can grow stably.”

For further inquiries, please contact the Gijang-gun Education and Youth Division or the administrative welfare centers in towns and townships.
