HFR Secures Equipment Order for Additional US 5G Fronthaul Frequency Bands... Achieves Cumulative $10 Million

Global telecommunications equipment company HFR (CEO Jung Jong-min) announced on the 24th that it has achieved cumulative orders worth 10 million USD since the fourth quarter of last year for equipment designed for the 5G fronthaul frequency band targeting the US market. Most of these orders are expected to be recognized as revenue within the current fiscal year. This fronthaul supply reference is evaluated as a result that proves HFR's technological competitiveness in the global 5G network market.

Worldwide mobile traffic continues to increase, and especially with the spread of 5G networks, frequency efficiency has emerged as an important issue. Along with the rapid increase in AI-based traffic, additional frequency allocation and expansion in the number of cell deployments are expected.

In response to these market environment changes, HFR has further developed its existing US-targeted fronthaul technology and developed equipment for additional frequency bands, supplying it to major North American telecommunications operators. Furthermore, considering the advancement from Open RAN to AI-RAN based on the existing 5G fronthaul solution, fronthaul demand is expected to expand significantly.

Jung Jong-min, CEO of HFR, stated, “As global mobile traffic increases, the frequency efficiency of 5G is becoming increasingly important. In particular, the rapid surge in AI traffic is expected to lead to additional frequency band allocations and an increase in the number of cell deployments.” He added, “The introduction of AI-RAN based on Open RAN is expected to drive fronthaul demand. Our company is promoting market entry into Europe as well as expanding customers in the US through continuous product development, active marketing, and sales activities based on fronthaul technology accumulated and successfully commercialized over the past 10 years.”
