On the 23rd (local time), he won the PGA Tour Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta (Par 71, 7,436 yards) held in Vidanta Vallarta, Mexico. He defeated Aldrich Potgieter (South Africa) in the second playoff. This was his first career win, overcoming the misfortune of five runner-up finishes on the PGA Korn Ferry (second-tier) Tour. He claimed the top spot in his 187th tournament on the tour and received a winner's prize of $1.26 million (approximately 1.8 billion KRW).
Campbell is not a long hitter on the tour. In this tournament, his average driving distance was only 293.60 yards, ranking 70th among the participants. On the other hand, his fairway hit rate was overwhelming. At 81.88%, he ranked 10th. Based on precise tee shots, he relied on his second shots to compete. The driver in Campbell's bag was the Ping G440 LST (10.5 degrees), a highly forgiving club. This was the strength that allowed him to surpass Potgieter, who averaged 324.30 yards (5th) in this tournament.
