Travel to the 'Uljin Snow Crab & Red Crab Festival' by Donghae Line Train

Uljin-gun Supports Special Train Tours for Festival Visitors
Two Additional Daily Stops at Hupo Station During Festival Period

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will support a special train travel program in line with the ‘Uljin Snow Crab and Red Snow Crab Festival’ held from February 28 to March 3.

The special train travel program will support a total of 150 people, including 60 tourists visiting from the metropolitan area and 90 tourists visiting from Gangneung and Donghae.

Travel to the 'Uljin Snow Crab & Red Crab Festival' by Donghae Line Train Donghae Line Uljin Station.

The program is structured as a package that includes round-trip train tickets between each departure point and Hupo Station, a full-course snow crab meal voucher, and admission tickets to two tourist attractions. With a support of 40,000 KRW each, travelers can enjoy the trip for 77,700 KRW per person (134,100 KRW when boarding the KTX from the metropolitan area), significantly reducing the economic burden on tourists.

Additionally, considering the convenience of tourists using the railway during the Uljin Snow Crab Festival, the trains stopping at Hupo Station, which were originally 12 times a day (5 times northbound, 7 times southbound), will have 2 additional stops per day. As a result, all trains passing during the festival hours will stop at Hupo Station to transport tourists.

In this regard, Uljin-gun will operate a 3 km shuttle bus between Hupo Station and the festival site during the festival period to facilitate the movement of tourists using the train.

County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “As this is the first festival held since the opening of the Donghae Line on January 1, we expect many tourists to visit by train. We have prepared a program and food as rich as the seasonal snow crab, so we hope many people will enjoy the festival.”

For more details about the railway travel, inquiries can be made to the Korail Gangwon Headquarters.
