Kim Hyun-jung Inaugurated as President of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency
Pledges to Create Safe and Healthy Workplaces
Kim Hyun-jung, former Vice Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, was inaugurated as the 16th President of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency on the 24th. Kim's term as president is three years, ending on February 23, 2028.

Born in 1957, Kim graduated from Railroad High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Korea National Open University, a master's degree in General Public Administration from Yonsei University, and a doctorate in Business Administration from Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies.
He has served as a worker member of the Central Labor Relations Commission, a worker member of the Wage Claim Guarantee Deliberation Committee, a worker member of the Minimum Wage Commission, Vice Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, and Chairman of the Korean Public Social Industry Labor Union.
In his inaugural speech, Kim stated, "I will ensure that the agency is reborn as a field-centered specialized institution for industrial accident prevention" and "I will do my best to create safe and healthy workplaces by reducing major accidents and to achieve world-class K-Occupational Safety and Health."
