Gwangju Bank Opens 'Foreigner Financial Center' to Meet Migrant Financial Needs

Gwangju Bank (President Ko Byungil) announced on the 24th that it has opened a "Foreign Financial Center" to meet the financial needs of foreign workers and immigrants.

The opening ceremony, held at the Foreign Financial Center in Heukseok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, was attended by key figures including Ko Gwangwan, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Gwangju City, and Kim Myungsoo, Chairman of the Gwangsan-gu Council.

The center was established to provide customized financial services for the increasing number of foreign workers and immigrants in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions each year.

As the first branch dedicated to foreigners in the Gwangju and Jeonnam financial sector, the center plans to continuously offer more convenient and reliable financial services to foreign customers, including simple currency exchange, remittance, deposit, and loan services.

The center is also attracting attention for its easily accessible location. It is situated in the same building as the Foreign Residents Support Center and is located in Heukseok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, where many foreign workers reside, making it well-received by numerous foreign financial consumers.

In addition, to overcome language barriers, a real-time interpretation and translation service system supporting 38 languages has been established. Foreign staff from four countries (Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, Mongolia) have been assigned to the counters, enabling the center to focus even more on providing customized financial services through shared understanding.

Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, said, "With the opening of the Foreign Financial Center, we expect the accessibility of financial services for foreigners in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to improve significantly," adding, "We will continue to expand financial services that consider the diversity and inclusiveness of the local community."
