Man in His 60s Dies After Being Crushed by 15-Meter Oak Tree While Clearing Area Around Mother's Grave
A man in his 60s died after being crushed by a 15-meter-high oak tree while clearing the area around his mother's grave in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do.
According to the Haenam Police Station on the 24th, at 11:16 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A, in his 60s, was cutting down trees with a chainsaw near his mother's grave on a mountain in Gyegok-myeon, Haenam-gun, when he was crushed by a 15-meter oak tree.
The 119 emergency medical team, who responded to the report, transported Mr. A to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but he died during treatment. A relative, Mr. B, also in his 60s, who was working with him, was also crushed by the tree and sustained minor injuries.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, believing that they were unable to avoid the tree that fell due to the wind.
