Actress Demi Moore, who gave a powerful performance in the film 'Substance,' won the Best Actress award in the film category at the 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held in Los Angeles (LA), USA, on the 23rd (local time). She continued her dominance in the Best Actress category this year, beating out Mickey Madison from 'Anora,' Carla Sofia Gascon from 'Emilia Perez,' Cynthia Erivo from 'Wicked,' and Pamela Anderson from 'The Last Showgirl.'
Moore also won the Best Actress award at the Golden Globe Awards, a major Hollywood film event, last month. By securing the Best Actress award voted by her fellow actors this time, she has increased her chances of winning an Academy Award next month. In 'Substance,' she portrayed Elizabeth, a woman whose life falls apart as she tries to regain her youth.
The Best Actor award in the film category went to Timoth?e Chalamet for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in 'Complete Unknown.' He triumphed over strong contenders such as Ralph Fiennes from 'Conclave,' Coleman Domingo from 'Sing Sing,' Daniel Craig from 'Queer,' and Adrien Brody from 'Brutalist.'
The Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor awards in the film category were given to Zo? Saldana for 'Emilia Perez' and Kieran Culkin for 'Real Pain,' respectively. The 'Outstanding Performance by a Cast' award, equivalent to Best Picture, was awarded to 'Conclave.'
