Up to 310,000 KRW Available
Applications Open from April 4
Incheon City announced on the 24th that it will provide up to 310,000 KRW to support the purchase of school uniforms for students entering middle and high schools in other regions.
Since 2019, the city has been promoting a free school uniform support project nationwide for the first time in collaboration with the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education to alleviate the educational expenses burden on parents. Starting in 2023, the city has also been fully funding school uniform purchase costs for students entering middle and high schools in other regions.
The support target is first-year students who are registered residents of Incheon as of the enrollment date and who have entered middle or high schools, or registered alternative education institutions offering middle or high school courses, in other cities or provinces.
Students can receive reimbursement for the actual cost of school uniforms (summer/winter uniforms or daily uniforms) up to a maximum of 310,000 KRW per person. However, those who receive enrollment support funds or school uniform purchase subsidies from the respective city/province or education office are excluded from eligibility.
Applications can be submitted online through the Incheon City website from April 4 to May 30. When applying, applicants must attach documents such as a resident registration certificate, enrollment certificate, school uniform wearing regulations, school uniform purchase receipt (item and amount), and a copy of the bankbook.
The city will finalize the support eligibility through document review by the end of June and will provide the school uniform purchase funds accordingly.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope that this school uniform support project, which benefits all students residing in Incheon regardless of the school location, will help reduce the economic burden on parents."
