Past Scholars Gather... Programs Include Special Lectures by Notable Figures
OK Baejeong Scholarship Foundation held its first half of 2025 workshop on the 22nd and 23rd at Daewoong Management Development Institute in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, the foundation announced on the 24th. The foundation was established by OK Financial Group affiliates such as OK Savings Bank and OK Capital.

The workshop was attended by about 130 people, including Chairman Choi Yoon of the group, who is the foundation’s chairman, the newly selected 14th class OK Baejeong Scholars this year, and scholars from the 1st to 13th classes. The program included a scholarship certificate awarding ceremony, a special lecture by a notable figure, team building, and outdoor activities.
At the scholarship certificate awarding ceremony, scholars who graduated after completing their university (graduate school) courses in the second semester of last year handed scholarship certificates to the 14th class. The 14th class scholars who received the certificates will receive the 'OK Baejeong Scholarship,' the largest living expense scholarship program in Korea, until graduation. They receive up to 2 million KRW per month as living expense scholarships. The foundation also awarded 'OK Baejeong Scholar Graduation Certificates' to the graduates.
The scholars participated in a team building program followed by a special lecture. The special lecture was delivered by Professor Yoon Dae-hyun, a neuropsychiatrist at Seoul National University Hospital Gangnam Center and author of 'Mental Classes for Leaders.' Professor Yoon lectured on 'Mental Management Methods for a Successful Life.' Kang Seung-soo, CEO of DS Investment Partners and the foundation’s auditor, shared his experience of expanding his career by passing the bar exam and then challenging roles such as police officer, consulate general consul, and lawyer.
Chairman Choi said, "I feel proud to see the new family of scholars and senior scholars strengthening their bonds with a sense of belonging as Baejeong Scholars," adding, "We will continue to provide opportunities for exchange so that scholars with expertise in their respective fields can come together to lead innovation and change, growing into global leaders who contribute to Korea and the international community."
The foundation celebrated its 23rd anniversary this year. So far, it has provided 27.7 billion KRW to over 8,000 cumulative scholars. It operates scholarship programs including the OK Baejeong Scholarship (for domestic university and graduate students), OK Global Scholarship (overseas), OK Middle and High School Rugby Scholarship, and OK Golf Scholars. Among these, the OK Baejeong Scholarship has produced 483 scholars from the 1st class in 2018 to the 14th class. Graduates are actively working as researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), researchers at the Bank of Korea, prosecutors, and lawyers at major law firms.
