Homeplus's online sales have been growing every year. From March last year to this month in the current fiscal year, online sales increased by double digits compared to the previous year.

The category driving the growth in online sales is 'food.' Food accounts for 86% of Homeplus online sales, which is high among online grocery platforms. In particular, sales of fresh food items such as fruits, vegetables, seafood, livestock products, eggs, and dried foods?key grocery items?have increased by up to 17%.

Non-food categories also showed remarkable growth. Household goods, clothing, and electronics have all demonstrated high sales growth rates. This year, Homeplus online electronics sales increased by 147% compared to the same period last year.

Homeplus Express's quick commerce service, 'Instant Delivery,' has seen a sales growth rate of 34%, showing significant annual growth. The company expects sales to have increased by approximately 317% compared to February 2021, when the instant delivery service was launched.

A high repurchase rate also had an impact. In the current fiscal year, Homeplus online repurchase rate was 64%, indicating that 6 out of 10 customers shop again using the Homeplus application (app).

By operating the app with customer customization using integrated online and offline free membership benefits and artificial intelligence (AI), the growth rates of loyal customers (VIP+ grade customers) and new customers (Family+ grade customers) were confirmed to be 23% and 17%, respectively.

Lee Tae-shin, head of Homeplus Online Business Division, said, "It is very unusual and meaningful in the large supermarket industry that the proportion of online sales exceeds 20% of total sales. We will further strengthen Homeplus Online’s quality and delivery competitiveness, which makes it feel like shopping fresh products in-store with your own hands, and become a continuously growing online mart."
