LG Energy Solution's 46-series cylindrical battery and Samsung SDI's ultra-high power cylindrical battery were selected as award winners at the 'InterBattery 2025' awards ceremony held on the 24th.
The Korea Battery Industry Association announced that, after evaluation by a panel of experts from industry, academia, and research in the battery field, 10 products and technologies were selected as award winners in four categories: battery, materials/components, equipment/automation, and startups.
In the battery category, LG Energy Solution's 'B-LifeCare', '46-series cylindrical cells and CAS solution', and Samsung SDI's '50A-class ultra-high power cylindrical battery' received awards.
LG Energy Solution's 'B-LifeCare' is a battery management service designed for convenient use by electric vehicle users. The 46-series provides at least five times more energy compared to the existing 2170 battery, significantly reducing the number of cells within a module. The CAS (Cell Array Structure) solution enhances the stability and performance of the 46-series at the pack level.
Samsung SDI's '50A-class ultra-high power cylindrical battery' applies a tabless design by processing multiple tabs at the electrode ends to expand the current path, achieving the industry's highest output.
In the materials/components category, Samsung SDI's 'LFP+ platform-oriented materials/plate technology', Lotte Energy Materials' 'high-end hybrid anode current collector for lithium-ion batteries', L&F's 'high-nickel composite cathode active material', and Eugene Technology's 'lead tab/edge processing and eco-friendly surface treatment technology' were awarded.
In the equipment/automation category, Mintech's 'electric vehicle battery rapid diagnosis system' received an award, and in the startup category, Mona's 'battery rapid diagnosis technology using artificial intelligence' and Ubat's 'ultra-high energy density lithium metal battery' were recognized.
The award-winning products and technologies can be viewed at the InterBattery 2025 event, located in the COEX A3 Hall lobby area. InterBattery 2025 will be held for three days from March 5 to 7 throughout the COEX exhibition center.
