Gathering Ideas for the Urban Ecological Axis Restoration Project
Connecting Sangnim and Harim
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 24th that it held a "Candidate Site Discovery Service and Public Contest Plan Report Meeting for the Urban Ecological Axis Restoration Project Connecting Sangnim to Harim" at the small conference room of the county office, attended by about 10 people including County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong and senior officials from related departments.
The report meeting was organized to share the basic concept and direction of the project and to exchange various opinions, with ecological experts such as officials from the Gyeongsangnam-do Environmental Policy Division and representatives from the Environmental Foundation also attending.
A candidate site discovery project and public contest briefing session for the urban ecological restoration project in Hamyang-gun is being conducted.
The attendees discussed measures to connect the disrupted urban ecological axis by restoring damaged waterfront ecological corridors, removing invasive species, and planting native species, aiming to create a sustainable ecological environment.
Hamyang-gun plans to review and supplement the opinions discussed at the report meeting and submit the project plan to the Environmental Agency. If selected as a nationally subsidized project, it will receive support covering 70% of the total project cost, estimated at around 7 billion KRW.
Governor Jin Byeong-yeong stated, "The ecological axis restoration project connecting Sangnim to Harim is an ecosystem environment that must be preserved importantly," and added, "We will do our best to ensure the project is selected."
