Raemian One Bailey in Banpo Expands Marriage Matchmaking Group
Membership Now Open to Residents of Nearby Apartments
A high-end apartment complex that operates a small group facilitating meetings between unmarried male and female residents recently expanded its membership eligibility to nearby apartment complexes.
According to the real estate industry on the 22nd, the marriage information group (Wongyeolhoe) of the 'Raemian One Bailey' apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, recently announced to residents, "We will expand the Wongyeolhoe, which previously arranged meetings for unmarried men and women within the complex, to become the representative marriage information group in the Banpo area and accept membership applications."
Raemian One Bailey is a large complex developed by Samsung C&T through the integrated reconstruction of Sinbanpo 3rd and Gyeongnam. It consists of 23 buildings with 2,990 households, ranging from 4 basement floors to 35 above-ground floors. Residents began moving in from August 2023. It is also known as the most expensive apartment in Korea based on an exclusive area of 84㎡.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's actual transaction price disclosure system on the 25th of last month, a 133㎡ unit (28th floor) in Raemian One Bailey was traded for 10.6 billion KRW on the 26th of last month, setting a new record price. The price per 3.3㎡ was 201.17 million KRW.
Wongyeolhoe is a marriage matchmaking group formed independently by the residents of Raemian One Bailey. With a membership fee of 100,000 KRW and an annual fee of 300,000 KRW, the original membership eligibility was limited to the residents themselves and their family members, such as children of residents. As word spread among parents, residents from nearby apartment complexes also joined, and regular meetings where the children of members actually met were held.
The Wongyeolhoe stated, "There has been a misunderstanding that only Raemian One Bailey residents can join," and announced, "The first eligible members are recommended acquaintances of owners among the residents, and the second group includes those wishing to join Wongyeolhoe from Seocho, Gangnam, and Banpo areas, who will be briefly verified before accepting membership applications."
They added, "Thirdly, for those who have unmarried children and want to join Wongyeolhoe but do not fall into the first two categories, we will accept membership applications and proceed after approval by Wongyeolhoe. Even if one is not a resident of Raemian One Bailey or the Seocho, Gangnam, Banpo areas, membership is possible upon approval by Wongyeolhoe."
