400 Wins in 4,952 Races, 8.1% Win Rate, 16.0% Place Rate
Honored with Fair Play Jockey Award Last Year
Lee Seong-jae (42 years old), a jockey active at LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam, has achieved a personal total of 400 wins.
On the 16th, jockey Lee Seong-jae rode the racehorse ‘Doctor Castle’ (trainer Baek Gwang-yeol, owner Kwon Hyuk-hee) in the Busan-Gyeongnam 2nd race held over 1400m. Although he raced from the mid-pack, he maintained his stamina until the final stretch and caught up with the leading horse ‘Babel Trofeo,’ crossing the finish line first.
He demonstrated strong momentum by winning 3 out of 7 races he participated in last week, quickly reaching the milestone of 400 wins without any setbacks.
Since his debut in 2008, now in his 18th year as a jockey, Lee Seong-jae has maintained steady performance through consistent self-management and effort. To date, he has recorded a total of 400 wins out of 4,952 races, maintaining a current winning rate of 8.1%, place rate of 16.0%, and show rate of 25.5% (as of February 16, 2025). Notably, last year he received the Fair Play Jockey Award, earning high praise for his racing manners.
Jockey Lee Seong-jae said, “Rather than being obsessed with the number of wins, I tried to conserve my energy and emotions as much as possible and focus on doing my best in every race. I will continue to perform steadily without injury and give my best until my last day as a jockey. I hope everyone will continue to trust and watch over me.”
