A Showcase of Next-Generation Innovative Products and Technologies
Exhibition of Aptera's Solar Mobility Vehicle
LG Energy Solution will unveil its next-generation cylindrical battery 46 series at 'InterBattery 2025,' the largest battery industry exhibition in Korea, held next month.
On the 23rd, LG Energy Solution announced that it will participate in InterBattery 2025, held from March 5 to 7 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
At this exhibition, LG Energy Solution will showcase various innovative battery technologies in the electric vehicle (EV) and non-electric vehicle (Non-EV) sectors under the theme "Awakening Future Possibilities and Creating a Better Tomorrow with LG Energy Solution's Innovative Technologies."
In particular, LG Energy Solution will publicly reveal for the first time its next-generation cylindrical battery 46 series cell lineup (4680, 4695, 46120). These products are considered game changers in the cylindrical battery market, offering at least five times the energy and output compared to the existing 2170 batteries.
Additionally, the solar mobility vehicle from the U.S. solar electric vehicle startup 'Aptera Motors,' equipped with LG Energy Solution batteries, will be exhibited. LG Energy Solution previously announced its supply plan for Aptera Motors at CES 2025, the world's largest consumer electronics and information technology exhibition held in the U.S. in January.
Among approximately 640 participating companies this year, LG Energy Solution has prepared the largest exhibition space of about 540㎡ (approximately 163 pyeong), divided into five zones: Hero Battery Solutions, EV Battery Solutions, Non-EV Battery Solutions, Future Readiness, and Sustainability.
In the Hero Battery Solutions zone, the 46 series lineup and the battery module and pack solution CAS (Cell Array Structure), which maximizes cylindrical battery performance and enhances safety, will be displayed.
In the EV Battery Solutions zone, LG Energy Solution will showcase its differentiated technology related to the Battery Management Total Solution (BMTS). LG Energy Solution's BMTS is an advanced solution that monitors battery data and helps achieve optimal performance by applying software such as advanced safety diagnostics and degradation/lifespan prediction through cloud and AI technologies to the existing BMS. LG Energy Solution officially launched the BMTS business last August and introduced the new BMTS brand 'B.around.'
Other exhibits include LFP-CTP (Cell-to-Pack), which offers excellent safety and cost competitiveness, and high-voltage mid-nickel (Mid-Ni) pouch cells that increase energy density by reducing nickel content and utilizing high voltage.
Notably, Aptera Motors' new type of mobility product, which maximizes driving range by simultaneously applying solar panels and battery packs, will be introduced in Korea for the first time. This product is recognized as a representative vehicle of next-generation mobility with its futuristic design and has even appeared in famous American science fiction (SF) movies.
Additionally, ESS batteries such as the JF2 for power grids, robots equipped with small battery cells, and innovative technologies expected to change the LFP battery market?such as dry electrode processes, bipolar batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and small pouch cells using 100% recycled cathode materials?will be introduced.
LG Energy Solution plans to expand its business beyond hardware into software and services, continuously developing its business structure to build a sustainable energy ecosystem and lead the market as a true 'Total Solution Provider.'
An LG Energy Solution official said, "This exhibition will allow visitors to see at a glance LG Energy Solution's vision and growth potential to open up limitless business opportunities by standing at the center of the entire 'energy circulation' ecosystem beyond simple battery manufacturing. At InterBattery 2025 this year, you will be able to witness the overwhelming technological leadership of LG Energy Solution, a global leader in the battery industry, through its innovative technologies and products."
