Held in Conjunction with the Reopening Ceremony of the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Seocho-gu, Seoul, will cooperate to honor national veterans and promote the culture of patriotism.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced on the 23rd that on the 24th, Minister Kang Jeong-ae and Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su will attend a ceremony at the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to sign a business agreement for the activation of "Patriotism for All." This agreement will be held in conjunction with the reopening ceremony of the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall, which completed a digital exhibition space project to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day.
According to the agreement, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Seocho-gu will mutually cooperate to strengthen the honor of national veterans by expanding customized welfare support for national veterans and their families residing in Seocho-gu, improving living convenience, and enhancing welfare infrastructure.
Additionally, to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, they plan to activate patriotism education for future generations using memorial halls and national cemeteries within Seocho-gu, such as the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall and the Simsang Kim Chang-suk Memorial Hall, and to encourage voluntary participation in patriotic activities by residents.
Minister Kang said, "Honoring and supporting national veterans and their families is the duty of all citizens and the social community," adding, "I hope this business agreement with Seocho-gu will lead to substantial enhancement of respect for national veterans and become a meaningful opportunity for the spread of 'Patriotism for All,' involving citizens, local governments, and the social community."
Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su stated, "We will continue to strengthen the honor of national veterans who have devoted themselves to the country and do our best to support the widespread promotion of a culture of patriotism shared by all residents."
Meanwhile, the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall will reopen after completing the production and installation of digital exhibits such as immersive video rooms, digital frames for artifact displays, and search kiosks. On the 26th, the An Jung-geun Memorial Hall will reopen, and in April, the Baekbeom Kim Gu Memorial Hall will also reopen with newly added digital exhibition content.
