Companies Expanding In-House Welfare Programs Draw Attention
Booyoung and Krafton Offer 100 Million KRW for Childbirth

365mc, a medical institution specializing in liposuction, has attracted attention for operating an 'Emergency Household Loan System' to support employees facing financial difficulties. The interest rate of this system is 1.9%, which is much lower than the market mortgage loan rates of 4-5%. Employees who have worked for more than one year can borrow up to 20 million KRW, and those who have worked for more than five years can borrow up to 50 million KRW.
In addition, 365mc grants the title of 'Partner,' meaning a growth companion, to employees who have been with the company for over one year and gifts them 2 don of gold and a laptop. Partners can benefit from a special incentive system called the 'Profit Sharing System.' This is a bonus system that distributes 20% of the company's net profit among all partners, paid once every two months. Kim Hajin, chairman of 365mc Co., Ltd., stated, "We will continue to pay great attention to welfare systems so that partners can focus on the core goal of 'customer-centricity' while also enriching their personal lives."
As the younger generation increasingly pursues 'Work-Life Balance (WLB),' more companies are attempting innovative welfare programs. A representative example is Booyoung Group. Booyoung Group provides 100 million KRW per child to employees who give birth. This in-house welfare program, personally announced by Chairman Lee Joong-geun, has been implemented since last year, supporting 9.8 billion KRW over two years.
Booyoung is not the only company encouraging employee childbirth. Korean game company Krafton recently announced plans to provide up to 100 million KRW in childbirth incentives to employees who have children. The policy under internal review includes a lump sum payment of 60 million KRW upon childbirth and an annual payment of 5 million KRW for eight years during employment, totaling 100 million KRW.
Ssangbangwool Group also offers childbirth incentives up to 100 million KRW. Employees with more than five years of service who have children receive 30 million KRW each for the first and second child, and 40 million KRW for the third child, totaling 100 million KRW. Lotte Group, in addition to its existing childbirth support policies, provides Carnival vehicles free of charge for 24 months to employees who have a third child. Afterward, employees have the option to purchase the vehicle at a price lower than the market rate.
Millie's Library, an e-book service company, runs a welfare program called 'Milli Tour,' which supports employees to travel to their desired destinations once a year. Each participating employee receives 1.5 million KRW. Employees who enjoyed this benefit reportedly traveled to destinations such as ▲Boracay ▲Okinawa ▲Sydney in 2023.
