On the 25th, ahead of the final arguments in President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial held at the Constitutional Court, the National Assembly and President Yoon's side are preparing for the last arguments over the weekend.

According to the legal community on the 21st, the National Assembly's impeachment prosecution team and legal representatives plan to hold a meeting on the morning of the 22nd to devise their argument strategy. In the final arguments, prominent figures such as lawyers Kim I-su, Song Du-hwan, and Lee Kwang-beom are expected to present arguments on key issues including the illegality of martial law and obstruction of National Assembly activities.


President Yoon and his legal team also plan to use the weekend to prepare for the final arguments at Seoul Detention Center. President Yoon's side intends to assert the legitimacy of martial law through the president's final statement of opinion and the legal team's comprehensive arguments. It is expected that President Yoon will personally draft a statement to prepare for his final testimony.


The Constitutional Court has allocated two hours each for comprehensive arguments to both sides on the 25th. Unlimited time has been granted for final statements of opinion to National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jeong Cheong-rae and President Yoon.


Meanwhile, starting from the morning of the same day, the Constitutional Court held a deliberation attended by eight justices, beginning discussions on major issues based on the adopted evidence and witness testimonies.
