Hongseong-gun to Open Bandabi Swimming Pool in April After Trial Operation

The 'Hongseong Bandabi Swimming Pool', which was completed last year in Chungnam after more than four years of construction, will be unveiled to residents through a trial operation starting in March.

The Hongseong County government announced that it will inspect the overall facilities and services of the Hongseong Bandabi Swimming Pool through a trial operation before its official opening in April.

The trial operation, which will run from March 4 to March 28, will accept on-site pre-registrations from February 24 to 25, and will be operated free of charge with designated time slots for use.

With a project cost of approximately 17.38 billion won, construction of the Hongseong Bandabi Swimming Pool began in March 2020. It was built on a 197,375㎡ site within the Hongju Sports Complex area in Hongseong-eup, with a total floor area of 2,981㎡, consisting of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.

The basement level houses a fitness center, multipurpose room, and mechanical room, while the first floor features an indoor swimming pool with six 25-meter lanes (four general lanes and two rehabilitation lanes), as well as changing rooms, showers, and other amenities. The second floor includes outdoor facilities and a parking lot that can accommodate up to 208 vehicles simultaneously.

Management and operation of the Bandabi Swimming Pool will be entrusted to the Hongseong County Sports Association for the Disabled under a private consignment system for five years, until October 31, 2029.

Lee Yongrok, Mayor of Hongseong County, stated, "As we expect many residents to visit the swimming pool, we will prioritize user safety above all else and thoroughly prepare for both the trial operation and the official opening," adding, "We hope that the Hongseong Bandabi Swimming Pool will become a space that enriches the health and cultural life of our residents."
