Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, Makerspace Specialized Lab Receives 'A Grade' for Two Consecutive Years

The Makerspace specialized lab ‘Eureka (U來Car)’ operated by the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation has received an A grade for two consecutive years in the ‘2024 Makerspace Specialized Lab Annual Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.


This is a result of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation’s efforts recognized for supporting manufacturing startups and spreading maker culture in the automobile tuning field.


A makerspace is a space that supports manufacturing startups by providing education, prototype production, and other services to realize makers’ ideas using manufacturing equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters.


This evaluation comprehensively reviewed the operational performance of the makerspace specialized labs, startup support effects, equipment utilization, and program operation results. The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation received high marks in areas such as ▲manufacturing startup support ▲maker culture expansion ▲operation of specialized education programs ▲industrial network building.

‘Eureka’ is a creative space specialized in the automobile tuning field, operating various programs including equipment support, education, and prototype production for entrepreneurs, contributing to the activation of the startup ecosystem within the province.


The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation plans to expand innovative production support services suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution era by advancing creative infrastructure, diversifying educational programs, and expanding collaboration with local companies and universities based on the makerspace specialized lab.


Lee Jin-hee, Head of the Convergence Talent Division at the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, said, “Receiving an A grade for two consecutive years is a recognition of the foundation’s continuous efforts to support creation and startups,” adding, “We will continue to fulfill our role as a key institution supporting manufacturing startups and innovative production activities.”
