Incheon City will hire 685 local government officials at grades 7 to 9 this year.
This is an increase of 182 people (36%) compared to the 503 hired last year, and the number of hires was finalized considering the number of vacancies including retirees.
The number of hires by grade is 11 for grade 7, 19 for grade 8, and 627 for grade 9, and 28 researchers and instructors will also be recruited. By institution, 589 will be hired by the city and 8 autonomous districts, 54 by Ganghwa-gun, and 42 by Ongjin-gun.
To expand public service opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, 19 people with disabilities (6.7%), 10 from low-income households (4.1%), and 4 technical high school graduates (31.0%) will also be selected. Including national veterans, 5 facility management grade 9 positions and 2 driving grade 9 positions recommended by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will be hired.
The written exams will be held twice, on June 21 (grades 8 and 9) and November 1 (grade 7), and applications can only be submitted online.
Applicants must meet the residency requirement in Incheon. They must have continuously resided in Incheon from before January 1 of this year until the final exam date (interview), or have had a registered address in Incheon for a total of at least 3 years before January 1 of this year. However, some job series and the Ganghwa-gun separate recruitment have different residency requirements, so applicants must check the official announcement carefully.
Starting this year, the Korean and English subjects of the open competitive exams for grades 8 and 9 will shift from knowledge memorization-based evaluation to job suitability evaluation (reasoning type, field job competency focused). Accordingly, the written exam time will increase from 100 minutes to 110 minutes.
Detailed exam schedules and information can be found on the Incheon City website under 'Exam Information' and the local government internet application center (local.gosi.go.kr).
