Kyungbok University held the ‘32nd Winter Graduation Ceremony for the 2025 Academic Year’ on the 21st at the Udang Art Hall on the Namyangju Campus.
The graduation ceremony proceeded in the following order: opening and national anthem, reading of the founding philosophy and proclamation of the Kyungbok spirit, Tessel Ceremony, award presentation and reading of the oath, congratulatory speech, celebratory performance, and singing of the Kyungbok anthem.
The Tessel Ceremony is a ritual procedure that publicly announces that the graduates have obtained their bachelor's degrees. It involves moving the tassel, called Tessel, on the graduates’ caps from the right side to the left side.
A total of 1,794 graduates received their degrees at the ceremony. The Udang Award was presented to Lee Chaeyeon from the Department of Nursing and Jeon Haneul from the Department of Clinical Pathology.
The top graduates overall were Jeon Jiin from the Department of Nursing and Jeon Haneul from the Department of Clinical Pathology.
In his congratulatory speech, President Jeon Jiyong of Kyungbok University said, "The graduates have accumulated cutting-edge education and practical experience tailored to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," and urged them to "continue to open new horizons based on creativity and innovation."
Meanwhile, Kyungbok University achieved an employment rate of 80.6% in the ‘2024 University Information Disclosure’ (as of December 31, 2023) announced by the Ministry of Education, ranking first in employment rate among general and vocational universities nationwide that have produced more than 2,000 graduates.
Kyungbok University is conducting autonomous admissions for the 2025 academic year until the 28th of this month.
