Daegu Film School (Principal Choi Jeong-ok) announced on the 21st that Principal Choi Jeong-ok received the Grand Prize of the ‘2025 Proud Special Education Person Award’ organized by the Korea Special Education Federation (President Jo Hyun-kwan).
The ‘Proud Special Education Person Award’ is given to special education teachers and scholars nationwide to encourage them and to honor staff who have dedicated themselves to students with disabilities and the development of special education in the field.
Principal Choi Jeong-ok began her teaching career in 1987 and has served as a special education teacher for 37 years. She participated in writing special school textbooks and received the Minister of Education Award at the ‘2013 Career Education Practice Case Study Presentation Contest’ for her interest and research in career and vocational education for students with disabilities.
She has also worked hard to improve the educational environment and restructure spaces centered on the curriculum for disability-tailored education. Since 2022, she has served as the president of the Daegu Special Education Federation, earning recognition for her contributions to the development of special education and the honor of receiving the grand prize.
Principal Choi Jeong-ok expressed her thoughts, saying, “I am pleased to have my passionate efforts for the happiness and hope of students recognized after 37 years in the teaching profession. Moving forward, I will do my best to communicate with the educational community so that students with disabilities can enjoy their school life.”
