Promoting Myeong-dong and Namsan
Through the Eyes of Foreigners
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) has appointed three foreign broadcasters as promotional ambassadors. The ambassadors are Lucky (real name Abhishek Gupta) from India, Alberto Mondi from Italy, and Daniel Lindemann from Germany.

The three communicate with the public through various activities. They have appeared on numerous programs such as JTBC’s “Non-Summit” and “Talk Paper 25 o’clock,” and MBC’s “Welcome, First Time in Korea,” introducing Korea from a foreigner’s perspective. Their jointly operated YouTube channel “354 (Samosa)” has reached 380,000 subscribers.
Lucky, who has established himself as a trader and restaurant entrepreneur, communicates with the public through his unique friendly charm. Alberto Mondi, active as both an entrepreneur and broadcaster, also conducted a “Promotion Communication Capacity Enhancement” training for Jung-gu office employees last December. Daniel Lindemann, a pianist and writer, continues various activities in Korea based on his artistic sensibility.
The three expressed their affection for Jung-gu and promised active engagement. Alberto Mondi said, “The first place I visited after arriving in Seoul was Namsan,” showing his fondness for Jung-gu. Daniel Lindemann said, “Jung-gu is a place with various charms such as history, culture, and great restaurants,” adding, “I will work hard to promote those charms.” Lucky brought a pun on “Jung-gu” saying, “Please ‘read’ the charm of ‘Jung’gu,” which brought laughter.
As their first official schedule, the three participated as cover models for the March issue of the district newsletter “Jung-gu Plaza” along with the Jung-gu Children Reporters and conducted a photo shoot. They plan to highlight various policies and attractions of Jung-gu through promotional activities going forward.
Next month, Alberto Mondi will give a lecture titled “European Dad’s Parenting Method” at the kids’ cafe “Norimongttang,” which will open in Sindang-dong. In April, they will shoot a promotional video for the “Namsan Footpath Forest,” and in May, they will participate in “Jeongdong Night Tour,” Jung-gu’s representative festival.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong said, “We have high expectations as these three, active in broadcasting and YouTube, will serve as promotional ambassadors for Jung-gu,” adding, “I hope they widely promote the infinite charms contained in Jung-gu’s 630-year history, where Jeongdong, Euljiro, Myeongdong, palaces, and Namsan harmonize.”
