Floor Leader Park said, "When I saw women guarding the National Assembly under fences and gates to protect Korea during the harsh winter, and witnessed their determination to defend the country even at 3 and 5 a.m., I couldn't help but shed tears of emotion."

He continued, "Citizens who gather in squares and on the streets are truly awakened citizens. I wondered where the core of these awakened citizens was, and after coming to today's event, I realized it is the women."

He added, "Currently, due to the December 3rd rebellion, people's livelihoods, the economy, and peace are all in crisis. I hope to see women leading the way through this difficult period."

The National Women's Committee recently elected a new leadership team and held the inauguration ceremony on this day. Going forward, it will support the political activities of female local council members and assist in promoting the party's gender equality policies.

Meanwhile, at the inauguration ceremony, the Democratic Party National Women's Committee adopted a resolution calling for: the immediate dismissal of President Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of insurrection; an end to gender-divisive politics that foster anti-women hatred; the restoration of regressed women's policies; and the realization of gender-equal democracy.
