Abandoned bicycles, left in a deteriorated state that harm the local environment and urban aesthetics and obstruct traffic, are collected by Yangsan City at a rate of about 200 units annually.
According to relevant laws, owners are given a chance to reclaim their bicycles through voluntary collection notices and public announcements. Among the bicycles that remain unclaimed after this process, 30 bicycles that were repairable were donated to the Yangsan City Welfare Foundation.
A representative from Yangsan City stated, “This donation of refurbished bicycles is expected not only to solve the problem of abandoned bicycles but also to foster a healthy and pleasant bicycle culture environment in the local community and promote the welfare of citizens.”
