For ages 9 to 24... Up to 168,000 won per year
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province is implementing a sanitary product voucher support program for vulnerable female adolescents.
According to the county on the 20th, the recipients of this support are female adolescents aged 9 to 24 who are beneficiaries of livelihood, medical, housing, or education benefits under the National Basic Living Security Act, legally recognized lower-income households, and households supported under the Single-Parent Family Support Act.
The voucher support begins on the date of application and, unless there is a change in eligibility, will continue to be provided until the recipient turns 24 after a single application. Applications can be made at the local administrative welfare center of the actual residence, regardless of registered address, or through the Bokjiro website.
This year, the support amount will be increased from 13,000 won to 14,000 won per person per month (up to 168,000 won per year). However, vouchers can only be used within the relevant year, and any unused amount will not be carried over but will expire. Therefore, recipients must use the voucher by December 31 of the relevant year.
County Governor Choi Hunsik said, "This project aims to protect the health of low-income female adolescents and reduce their financial burden," and added, "We will actively promote the program to ensure that eligible recipients do not miss out on benefits due to lack of information."
